We've been working with the Green Restaurant Association, a national non-profit organization, since the summer and we're thrilled to have completed their program and earn this Certification.
So how'd we do it?
The GRA's program rewards restaurants with points in 7 Environmental Categories: Energy, Water, Waste, Disposables, Chemical & Pollution Reduction, Sustainable Food, and Sustainable Building Materials.
To become certified, restaurants must meet the following criteria:
|
- Accumulate a total of 100 Points
- Meet a minimum of 10points in 6 of the 7 categoriesEnergy, Water, Waste, Disposables, Chemical & Pollution Reduction, and Sustainable Food
- Have a full-scale recycling program
- Be free of Polystyrene foam (Styrofoam)
- Implement a yearly education program
|
To date, we've earned over 115 points within their program!
We sought out this Certification because we know that restaurants have a huge environmental impact. Running a sustainable restaurant is important to us, and earning this Certification helps us show you, our customers, that our environmental efforts are real.
We hope you'll stop by Egg Plantation soon. Now, when you dine with us, you're dining green!
